Two research fields are set in this discipline: world literature and comparative literature. There are 5 teachers, including 2 professors, 2 associate professors and 2 doctors. Professor Xiao Shufen, the academic pacesetter, is a member of the China association of comparative literature, who has the profound achievements on writers’ works who won the Nobel literature prize.

Members of this discipline have strong teaching and scientific research capabilities. Foreign Literature History was appraised as the second-class excellent course in Jiangsu colleges and universities. In the past five years, 50 research and teaching papers, and 14 works have been published, which exert definite influences at home and abroad.
